maybe, if you ask nicely, they’ll come back for an encore
— The West Australian

Variegated Productions make shows. Rooted in contemporary theatre, we branch out into other forms and collaborate with other artists to grow our work.

Variegated Productions aims to bring theatre makers and concept breakers together to work with people and ideas that scare or excite them. Our aim is to play with new friends and to make up games as we go.

Long term we will keep pushing boundaries and engaging in new ways of working with both emerging and fully emerged artists. We are already growing a network of collaborators across Australia to help generate new works, and assist in the touring of our existing and newly developed projects. We aim to extend this network internationally.

We are based in Perth, Western Australia.

Variegated Productions is run by Libby Klysz, with St John Cowcher as an associate artist.

Collaborators include local and national artists such as Shane Adamczak, Daniel Buckle, Ofa Fotu, Joe Paradise Lui, Gracie Mae Smith, Tarryn Gill, Yvan Karlsson, Stacy Gougoulis, Brent Hill, Chris Isaacs, Esther Longhurst, Nick Maclaine, Tom ‘Mathas’ Mathieson, Adam Mitchell, Alwyn Nixon-Lloyd, Sam Longley, Michelle Nussey, Charlotte Otton, Ben Russell, Brett Smith, Mark Storen, Ben Sutton, Peter Townsend, Ant Webb and Robert Woods.
